L'Auberge de Jeunesse de Tadoussac
Founded in 1974, l’Auberge de Jeunesse de Tadoussac is a fantastic temporary home for those exploring the North of the province. As its red exterior roof beams against the harsh winter snow of Tadoussac, its interior nostalgically blankets its guests in an aroma of sweet coffee. In fact, as eyes wander over the hippie, rustic and artistic decor, one cannot stop but admire the familiarity found within its walls. Ergo, as its homey charm radiates all throughout the night, laughter resonates and peaceful snores are heard from above.
Strangely enough, as rustic as the hostel may seem to be at first, its warm showers, its charming bar, its clean rooms, and its food-filled kitchen are gifts sent from heaven. As for the what seemed to be a secret attic upstairs, a history of tales and good night laughter seems to enclose its air.
Nevertheless, if there was one thing that truly defined the hostel, it would be its amazing and kind people. Always ready for a chat, those who worked at the hostel gave off a certain tranquility and joy that is quite rare to find here in Montreal. And without a doubt, as short as our journey through Tadoussac was, l’Auberge de Jeunesse de Tadoussac and its warm people will forever stay in my thoughts.
